About us
Hill Climb Activities is an outdoor education company providing specific tailor made programmes & inspired off the shelf courses for a range of clients, whilst working in partnership with the local community.
Our 47 acre site is situated in the heart of the West Pennine Moors with easy access to road networks and a short drive from the Lake District National Park.
Over the years the company has developed a reputation for providing safe activities with fantastic instruction & superb equipment, delivering professional development, educational & recreation courses in the North West of England & providing high quality, affordable residential facilities.
Although our primary role is to provide educational activity programmes for schools & corporate groups we also run courses for more experienced clients.
Acting as a resource for the education and business industries, we can provide training, facilities or advice for you. You can even hire our expertise or book our facilities or equipment for your own event.
Our areas of expertise
Mobile Activities
We bring our mobile high ropes, archery, zip line, low ropes, orienteering & problem solving to your school event, saving you the need to travel.
Activity Days
Bring your students to our centre in Great Harwood for an action packed day on our extensive on site activities.
Residentials
Either at our tailor made centre in the Pennines or out in the wilds…you’re bound to find something to suit your students needs.
Educational Courses
We have a wide range of educational programmes from BTECs to DofE.

1. As the single most defining aspect of any learning experience is your instructor we pride ourselves on employing staff with high level qualifications & bags of experience.
2. We have become renowned for the quality of our equipment and the immaculate condition it is kept in.
3. We provide transport (minibuses) to facilitate our off site activities.
4. Every course is assigned a designated Course Director who will work with your group from booking to departure.
5. We will provide free pre and post course visits to your school. We are happy to attend parents Q&A sessions or simply meet with your teaching staff before you book.
6. All our courses have small ratios & we often assign extra instructors to a group to allow for more flexibility.
7. Our centre is easy to get to, being just a short drive from the M65.

9. All our courses are tailor made for your students. Unlike other centres we don’t provide off the shelf packages. Our programme writers take into account lots of factors such as the educational needs & ages of the students.

Meet The Team
We have a small permanent staff team at Hill Climb Activities. This allows us to have a closely nit team that is fully competent in all aspects of the activities we provide. All seasonal freelancers undergo a rigorous training & selection process before they are let loose with the public. Safety is our number one priority. Because of this all the instructors that lead our sessions have the relevant National Governing Body awards, current First Aid Certificate & more importantly bags of experience delivering the session itself.
